One of Emmylou's best released with her fantastic "Hot Band". Beautifully recorded with expressive instrumentation featuring songs written by Chuck Berry, Townes Van Zandt, Rodney Crowell, The Louvin Brothers, & 2 from Gram Parsons. Well, this is weird. I received my copy a few days ago and also have 0000/5000. I'm sending an email to Rhino and will report back if I hear from Rhino.referencing Luxury Liner (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Numbered, Reissue, Stereo, 180g, Gatefold) RHF1 3115
My copy sounds incredible no issues. It's number 0000/5000 it came straight from Rhino. I've had a lot of numbered issues of various records. Also some low numbers but never all zeros? Incredible sound couldn't be more pleased. Sit back and close your eyes and listen.referencing Luxury Liner (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Numbered, Reissue, Stereo, 180g, Gatefold) RHF1 3115
Outstanding. From the jump this album rips! Great music and sonics.- "Poncho & Lefty" and "She" are standouts on LUXURY LINER, as is the production, which somehow makes the music sound sparse but lush at the same time. This pressing sounds really good, with plenty of detail to the instrumentation and a full-bodied, robust soundstage. My copy plays nice and clean with occasional faint surface noise.

The credits do not mention it, but "BG" is etched in the runout.
Bernie Grundman remastered this version I believe. Excellent sounding
So not only a reissue, but a remaster as well. Please correct me if wrong.

Superb pressing throughout. Those non filled mess early Rhino HIFI cuts are an increasingly distant memory for me now. Optimal on form means as good a press as you can get and im pleased to report flatness, centered and silence here. The mastering was always going to be lovely because even the youtube stream sounds lovely. This is just one of those recordings you cant mess up and that doesnt change here. The usual praises to the quality of the gatefold and packaging. Only thing id change would be to a rice paper inner as the Optimal paper/poly is a pig to get in and out of these tight tip ons.referencing Luxury Liner (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Numbered, Reissue, Stereo, 180g, Gatefold) RHF1 3115
Likely the most quiet RHF pressing I've heard so far. The mastering cut is good, but does not instantly create the definitive pressing of this important album. Kevin Gray said in an interview that all he did in cutting this was pull out 1dB of upper midrange, but there seems to be a little more going on here. On A1, the upper midrange reduction removes some of the snap from Albert Lee's famous guitar solos as compared to a 1977 Winchester 1st pressing. However, everything in Pancho & Lefty and the rest of side one sounds more full and forward. On B3, the resonance of the vintage Gibson mandolin (also played by Albert Lee) is diminished in this pressing. More solid work by the crew at Rhino, but not markedly superior to clean first press copies out there.- My WW 1 #6 / #9 pressing has an interesting variance from other copies I've heard. B1 - "(You Never Can Tell) C'est La Vie" begins with music in the right channel only until the bass comes in at :01. Subsequent versions have music starting in both channels. Another 1st pressing oddity? Vocals are perfectly clean and bright, and instrumentation sounds stunning. Historically regarded as a very good recording, fresh tape on a '77 pressing is wonderful.

Beautiful sounding LP, flat and quiet. Vocals and instruments clear and pronounced in the mix but not muddy. Gatefold is also well-done. I'd always like more liner notes in these pricey reissues but the interview with Albert Lee is definitely cool. Highly recommended.
