Agreed, this is a superb pressing and my copy is flawlessly quiet with wonderful instrument separation. Strangely, this copy has TWO Side 1 labels!

Fantastic pressing. Wide soundstage, detailed guitar and percussion, booming drums, rhymin’ Simon centered but not out front.

Amazing soundstage, deep lows, clear highs, balanced mids and silent vinyl. Sounds better than my Tidal stream @ max quality through a bluesound node. If you can pick this up, do it.

Just a heads up, All original 1990 vinyl cuts are DMM. This one just has DMM in the runout to identify it as such when cut for Columbia House. I own three copies of this album on vinyl, This one, a European pressing and Canadian. There is no difference in dynamic range (using MAAT) The best, quietest pressing regarding noise floor is the European. I really don't know why these club pressings are so highly priced. The 1990 CD pressing is also excellent.

The track sequencing on this flows nicely, I prefer it to the standard version. Pressing sounds great too, better than streaming or my old 90s CD.

"The Obvious Child", "Can't Run But" and "She Moves On" are the highlights of this more dense and layered follow-up to GRACELAND. This is one of the best sounding records in my collection. Percussion and bass are incredibly pure and deep, guitars and other accents have richness and clarity, and the soundstage is immersive and enveloping. Impressive quality from a time when vinyl quality in general was in rapid decline. My copy looks minty on the vinyl, and plays with zero surface noise. Five stars and a happy face.

Have to agree with the masses here. It’s a very muffled pressing, the mix is very low. When I crank the volume it just gets louder, it doesn’t open up. Sounds like a flaccid cd pressed to vinyl

Recently picked up a 1990 DMM and I like this one better because the vocals are more front and center/present compared to to the 1990 which sounds good; don’t get me wrong, but the vocals aren’t as forward. They’re a little in the background.

The 1990 version is a bit warmer overall. So depends on your own taste. The 1990 I think is still reasonably priced but if you just want to get a version in your collection either are a good choice.

This doesn’t sound compressed or digital, to me. Again the plus is the vocals being more front and centered. Music sounds very good as well on my set up.

I’ll add that mine isn’t noisy. Very quiet. Flat, centered. But proof? Yeah. Proof is the bottom line for everyone.

I’ll add one more thing because as much as I try to be objective about the sq and pressing when I review I’ll say I’m a huge PS fan from S&G Wednesday Morning 3 AM to Bridge Over Troubled Water through all of his solo stuff including Graceland, this is my favorite PS composition/music, lyrics, and delivery of all his body of work. Up there with Emily, Wherever I May Find Her, Sparrow, Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall etc. Collectively, this is all of those but more mature. Grown up. Better writing. As one offering. My favorite. And Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme is pretty f ing solid. As is Bookends and…

Music‘s really interesting and not bad!
The pressing is a real catastrophy. A lot of surface noise. You can wash with ultrasonic, nothing change.
Only for the music two stars, the pressing isn’t worth one.

The guitarist on "Further to Fly" is actually Rigo Star, not Ringo Starr, and in the liner notes, his first name was mispelled as Ringo, so this needs to be corrected.
