Twenty years after writing a song about him ("Charlie Owens' Slide Guitar" from WORDS AND MUSIC) Paul Kelly finally got around to recording an album with Charlie Owens, and their chemistry is apparent from the get-go. This is a rather oddly themed collection of songs sung at funerals, only two are Kelly originals ("Meet Me In The Middle Of The Air" and "Nukkanya"). No issues with this pressing, aside from a couple of songs that include Kelly's daughters on harmony vocals, all the music is performed by Kelly & Owens, and the soundstage is suitably intimate and detailed. My copy was purchased new and the vinyl is flat and quiet, with a bit of light surface noise during "Bird On A Wire".

Horrible pressing. I tried two copies and sent both back, warping and horrendous surface noise, and sonically nothing gained from this vinyl release, which is a shame as it’s worthy material.
