Looks like this album is a divisive one going by the couple of reviews on here. For myself, I’m a sucker for this late 70s New Wave stuff, and Lene is undoubtedly a singular talent. Bird Song was the main single from the album and wasn’t much of a hit sadly. I cant imagine the Lucky Number/Say When audience going for it. Personally, I think its great. The kind of weird pop music that mesmerised me when I was a kid.
The album itself - the SQ is great. Its a 70s New Wave album so no one is going to be expecting Pink Floyd. But even so, the sound is more than adequate. No complaints here.
The songs - its not as strong as Stateless but I would still recommend it if you’ve been dabbling with this era. I gather the CDs that have been released over the years have been a bit of a mixed bag so I’ll be sticking with the record.

Never was massive fan in the late 70s though I am a fan of anything New Wave/Punk, however I picked this up recently and love it. Very complete album with a unique style and sound. Bird Song is excellent and the rest are up there alongside it.

Not a singer or album for everyone but if you enjoy slightly off-key stuff in this genre, it may be for you.

I'm not a fan and I can't say this album has improved with age; even for Stiff, Lene was on the leftfield but hang on; what's that familiar intro? It's another brave/mad/inspired choice to cover the 1972 Northern Soul classic by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, 'The Night'; perhaps this was the version Jamie Reynolds loved? It's the only track on here I'll listen to again; worst of the lot is 'Joan' (I never want to here that again).
