Night Ranger – Midnight Madness

This album is cut pretty hot! How does it sound? Excellent. It sounds absolutely terrific. Great mix from top to bottom. This is a good rockin' album to crank up.

Obviously a classic and their most successful album. This is a great pressing. "Passion Play" is an especially under rated song.

The Good: The blue looks nice and original artwork. The not so good: The actual sound. Very thin sound and very compressed. No dynamics, limited soundstage. I was hoping to replace my OG that was damaged in a basement flood. This is NOT how I remembered these songs sounding! LOL.

I bought this for Sister Christian alone. The rest of the album is not my favorite. It’s not bad, it’s just typical.

I have a copy of this album, but the cover has a gold stamp at the top right corner that reads, "FOR PROMOTION ONLY - Ownership Reserved By MCA RECORDS, INC. - Sale Is Unlawful". Anyone have a clue if there is another Discogs listing that is more appropriate?

Any sound quality comments on this? Also, how can this be pressed at Pinckneyville? They ceased production in 2007.

This style of rock is not my favorite, but I do like Night Ranger more than some of the others. In fact, I seem to remember them being on a tv talk show and liking them. Sister Christian is obviously the big hit on this album. The rest of it is fine.

Good old-fashioned, guitar-forward rock and roll.
This is the follow-up to "Dawn Patrol" and aside from "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" which is their greatest hit ever, this album overall has better writing and performances, imo.

I rescued this copy from the $2 bin, but I would have easily paid $5, lol.

Brad Gillis never got his due, but he has created his own unique guitar style, not unlike EVH, RR, and Vai. His Floyd work on solos is on full display, and compliments the band.

This recording is stunning and the mastering is great. Grab an older pressing like this one and be happy. Recommended.
