The Decemberists – The Hazards Of Love

I received this pressing in late 2023 and it did not have the side D flaw which is a known issue. I think it sounds pretty great.

Great music, great album. Sub par mastering and pressing. This could really benefit from a reissue done with care.

Avoid this pressing. Mine came with the D2/D4 flaw that others have complained about. Makes the "D" side unlistenable.

Bought this, and agree 100% with the other commenter about the butchered flow. The album as it is intended flows beautifully from one track to another, and this record plays like you hit a brick wall ever few songs. Completely disrupts the experience. What's more, is that my copy had the D2/D4 flaw (which apparently means it's pressed from a digital copy?), which makes the D side unlistenable. It's a garbage version of a brilliant album. Rough Trade should have done something about this. Very disappointing.

Honestly a waste of money - gutted - played once and immediately in the 'to be forgotten' cupboard - the mastering and way they have split the tracks is a tragedy - such a great album and all about the flow between the songs and they have butchered it. -songs cutting off randomly - not even during a fade out / outro etc - needed some care and sounds like it was a blindfolded darts situation. Not sure if original version had this issue as would love to own a listenable version of this incredible album

Fairly quiet. Nice low end. Not quite as much dynamic range as digital equivalent.

Anyone else have a mastering flaw on disc 2 , like a click and minor loss of sound?

If a fan of this album, the vinyl copy is really a big step up over the CD or streaming. Really well recorded and worth getting. This recording has so much more depth to this rock opera, which was really good on CD! One one my favorites.
