Such a classic Finnish electro record. Or perhaps "garage rock electro". Great tunes, peculiar lyrics & singing style, and classy musicianship from people like drummer Anssi Nykänen who features on the hit track Scorpius. Genius from beginning to end.
Recommended. One of the best bands to come out of Finland in the 90's.- Edited 20 years ago

Retro-chic is now just a word but Op:L Bastards did have something that made their music distinctive from instant synthie-cliches of International Dee-Jay Gigolos or Disko B repertoire invaded with the likes of Miss Kittin or Artist Unknown. 'The Job' on occasion runs like a forgotten band from early 80s Finland as analogue synths are given their absolute reign, still tracks like 'Masqued Lover' show the group are not depending on synthetics alone but bring innovative acoustic treatments into the whole. 8/10
