I completely disagree with vinylbladerunner. My copy of the 2014 master sounded like garbage and I got rid of it immediately. When I got a copy of this version by accident and listened to it I was blown away. No sibilance, dead quiet, and amazing sound quality. I’m not trying to pump up the price of this record because I don’t plan on selling it any time soon—I’m just being honest.
I wish they would repress another decent version of this album. This is the only major album from the early nineties that I have seen at least where the original pressing is horrible. Complete tragedy.- Bought this sealed a year a go, and was really surprised with the quality of sound!!! I have the 2014 european that sounds better, but, despite the source used, this is really good!!
- Edited one month agoIt took me a lot of listens, but after recently grabbing this OG copy I made a full comparison between the first edition and the 2014 repress which I owned for 4 years and the cd OG 1994 press. First of all I think a lot depends on your ear and even more on your system. If you have a pretty revealing one, it comes easily clear that the winner is the OG lp. If you want to understand why, you just need to focus on the cymbals. On the original, cymbals are much more realistic and detailed than on the 2014 lp, which in terms of details is very similar to the cd, has just a slightly bigger soundstage than the cd. Also the percussion instruments have a better structure on the OG and in general you feel more bottom end, more air, more openness and balance. The OG cd for being a Grunge product from the '90 sounds even too good, much better than other Grunge productions from the Ninties. The 2014 repress is overall a good product, a pleasant listen, as someone noticed Cornell's voice is less hot than on the OG. What do I recommend? If you invested in a very important system and this album is in your top 10 all time fav, then grab the original. To me it sounds excellent. Otherwise I'd stay with the OG cd or the 2014 lp repress which are very very decent.

$5,000 = joke pricing. Will be curious to see if a copy at that price actually sells.- I just opened a brand new copy of this and the blu-ray doesn't work! A friend has the same thing and theirs works fine in my Sony X800 player. They tested mine on their OPPO and a PS3 but it doesn't work for them either. Did this happen to anyone else? Any recommendations of how I can get a replacement?
- If you can't get the 320 pressing, get the Brazilian OG (as the person below mentioned), if you can't get that then get this. I have all three and my wife has the 2014 (the worst).

If any of you current 181 owners are interested in selling a copy, please message me.- Very good pressing, out of all post 2014 reissue this is best EU pressing, better than GZ pressed or colored ones.
On this version they have toned down the boomy bass and has made it more balanced and pleasent on the ear, still has over blown top end but that an inherent choice they made while remastering in 2014.
The 2014 QRP variant is still the better out of two, and has a warm sound, but this is a big improvement over GZ pressing. - Edited 3 months agoSo I recently purchased the 2023 EU Reissue, and did an A\B comparison with 2014 QRP Pressing.
The 2014 reissue pressed at QRP which was remastered by Ron Mcmaster for vinyl sounds absolutely amazing, people complain about how it sound compressed, forget that this grunge album came out at the peak of the digital era when compression was in everything, it is mixed like that.
QRP has done a tremendous job, its loud with plenty of bottom end, it has that analog sound very warm compared to later reissues, 320 is still the best in terms of dynamics and is cut low to preserve the separation, where 2014 Reissue is compressed but not in a bad way its a heavy music not Jazz, its one of the best sounding records in my small collection, and i do had the pleasure of listening to 320 AAA cut.
Later US pressing which was pressed using the same metal parts is not done at QRP, but GZ media, it has got some mixed reviews hence the confusion. - Clearer and with better separation then the reissues they are making these days which sounds muffled.
