A wonderful album taken from a terrible source. Record was also warped, although that's the least of it.
The version I've been listening to on Tidal - (c) 2004 Smithsonian Folkways - has none of the of the cassette warble

Yes, my copy sounded warbled and fluttery on both sides at the start. Although, the sound to me seemed to level out near the end of both sides??

Came here to see if anyone else had issues with this pressing because mine too sounds terrible. A warbly/wobbly sound throughout which renders it unlistenable

Returned two copies of this - both sounded awful. I agree with the comments below - sounds like it was lifted from damaged tape. It's a shame, this is a beautiful album that deserves better.

The album description states:

"New vinyl reissues remastered from the original 1976 master tapes, packaged in classic Folkways-style tip-on jackets with original liner notes."

The comments here invite me to not getting a copy of it. Anyone having a good experience with his copy?

My copy also sounded appalling - one of the worst reissues I've ever heard. It sounded significantly better through youtube. Sent straight back.

This is the epitome of a bad job in vinyl reissue business. Sounds like it's lifted from an old cassette. I wonder whether guys/girls who release stuff of this poor quality as a pricey vinyl record have any ears at all. Avoid this release by any means!

I bought this and returned it. Sounded absolutely awful. Tons of wow and flutter, a sort of shakiness to the sound... I compared it to a vinyl rip of the original press on YouTube and the difference was huge. So, so disappointing. Would love to hear anyone else’s experience with it.

This record was sampled by Four Tet. He ended up having to pay thousands of dollar to post-clear uit. Anyways, that's a helluva record.
