Massive vocoder electro. Takes inspiration from Kraftwerk's Trans Europe Express, 'Tour De France', Numbers etc / Soul Sonic Force's - 'Planet Rock' as many electro records did back then. Particularly this outfit's West Coast contemporaries.

To be honest I actually prefer the Instrumental. No surprises there then !! The instrumental mixes of many of these 1980s electro gems are just that little bit more versatile and can be dropped amongst other genres besides hip hop and its sub styles such as miami bass. Namely house music of the NON garage/vocal/deep kind, such as the more synthetic original tough jacking kind. But also other electronic styles ie freestyle, acid house and of course TECHNO. Because of this reason, it's that little more timeless.

Love this sound as it's expansive and broad and can be played very loud without distorting too much aswell. The gated reverb bass kick is booming. Is it an 808? The rim shots / snares sound they're from an Oberheim DMX drum machine. The vocoder mix was one of many of the signature break dancing / popping / robot dance tracks in our little gang when we were little youths whilst everyone else listened to dreary rock power ballads, synth-pop/new romantic and boring soul. 1982-1985 was a special time if you were a fan of this type of music.
