Beach House – B-Sides And Rarities

I recommend this LP to Fans of Beach House.

Plenty of cool vibe tunes on this LP. Overall, I'm happy having a collection of some of their older tunes, and it wasn't overpriced at all. Also, I'm appreciate B4 - Rain In Numbers being included in this collection.

I bought this LP from a local music shop. They graded it as Very Good (VG). The media, cover, and sleeve were mint.They graded this one properly for Audio. The only notable exception would be Track 1 on Side A; Good, at best. I speculate this is an odd collection of such softly recorded music, that even normal surface noise and pops are way more noticeable. I had to increase my system volume, 20% higher than normal, just to decently enjoy the sound at all.

My copy is a bit noisy on side B. Otherwise, sounds good.

Was surprised to see that this entire album is pressed on one disc, especially considering that Devotion and Teen Dream, two albums shorter than this that could’ve fit on a single LP, were both stretched out upon 2 discs. Though this pressing suffers from what you’d expect from a long album on a single disc, it isn’t that bad and is surprisingly listenable if you turn up the volume. It’s pretty low volume and much more noisy and less dynamic than my other beach house records but it isn’t a complete disaster. I also really like the material used on the cover, it feels very nice though it doesn’t make for a great inner sleeve so definitly get an inner protector sleeve for this one.

I had this noise and clicks/pops problem with "Thank your lucky stars" - on green vinyl. I wonder if it also could be a coloured vinyl thing as well as the fact that there's a lot of tracks on the record?

Really bad pressing, will send mine back. I don’t mind long albums and quiet pressings but this one is full of repeating tics and little scratches. I own a lot of albums around 55-62 mins that sound way better.

Just found a new copy of this pressing in my local shop. It seems pretty clean to me, maybe the initial batch from 2017 had issues?

My version also has ZERO SURFACE NOISE. Not sure what people are talking about here.

Some seriously loud pops on this pressing for me. Not on every track but especially jarring during such chilled out music.

Got mine about a month ago. It's definitely a quieter pressing than most, but my copy doesn't have any of the surface noise/clicks that everybody else is reporting. Luck of the draw?

Bought this brand new at Amoeba records in Hollywood (in store not online) a few years ago, and immediately thought it sounded pretty bad. Has surface scratches and lots of pops and clicks. :///
