Beautiful recording of great Monk songs. This pressing has amazing sound quality, the dynamics are great and the piano is very well recorded. Vinyl is flat, silent and clean. Impossible to beat at the current prices, don't sleep on it.

really glad i picked this up (for 22$). everything you want in a record; no noise, flat, and great dynamics. never heard this set before, and he doesn't disappoint.

I heard good things about this pressing and thus ordered it. Now I just saw that theres also a Kevin Gray-Cut of this record.
The one by Joubert sounds really good and doesnt really leave something to be desired, anyway: did someone listen to both cuts? Is there a difference?

If you are into the packaging and nice details surrounding the project, this edition fits the bill. If you want a superior sounding vinyl for listening, I would recommend picking up one of the 2 Kevin Gray cuts available

Limited to 1000 numbered copies on 200 gram vinyl - exclusive for Acoustic Sound ... what does that even mean?? Absolutly nothing! I suggest to save money and get a regular copy with the same accustic properties. But compare them yourself. I seriously do not understand this .. why would a decent label press 1000 records with amazing sound quality and the rest can listen can get an average copy with less good sonics? What is the motivation behind this confusion and why not same standard's for the entire pressing. I absolutely appreciate this release and can't recommend it enough, but this is strange to me.

QRP limits their run to 1000 copies per stamper, to keep the quality as high as possible, and on 200 gram wax. They do have a regular version as well, not numbered, regular weight, but using the same master. Consumer can choose if they want this higher end pressing or not.

RSD site shows 2000 made. Image here is of #3611. Hmm. Possible there is a slightly different non-RDS limited run of 5000? Or they printed more later? Not cool.

Hello, This Monk box set is an RSD 2017 exclusive release. 2000 copies for North America, 2500 for Europe, 250 for Japan and 250 for promo, friends and all the people who help us to release this lost recording = 5000 copies. All are numbered. BUT a few of them have 'wrong' number, up to 5000, due to printing contraints. Be sure that his one is limited and exclusive. Best, Fred / Sam Records
