- I think this tune had one of the longest gaps between airing on dubplate and making it to release - it felt like it was caned by every big DJ for almost a year before it finally made it into record shops. I remember being so gassed the day I walked into a shop and it was finally there - instant buy!! Would be interested to know when the first dubs were cut
- This was cetainly a song that changed things for the scene, and for better! not like, IMO, whats happening to DnB today, frog fart burp step can go away asap.

Either you think of this as a classic, or a decent basic tune; and that depends on what sort of D&B you are/were into.
Me? Hard, stripped jungle & tough futuristic liquid atmosphere's were & are my thing. Nothing pretty, no 4/4 beats, & a breakbeat/mathematical cut- up approach. That's how we rolled on the original scene.
This? STONE COLD CLASSIC. Including 'Check Dis Out'.
- Warhead was the way to know if your soundsystem and the settings was good, if you had no "sound" when the huge sub happen in the intro, then you knew it was a bad club :D ---- what a classic
- Edited 5 years agoArrgh brings back so many memories and feelings. Stronger than anything. Visceral.
- Not that it matters but this isn't a roller, it's a steppa. But maybe that's just the late 90's dnb DJ in me. No doubt about it, it's a choon whatever you wanna call it!! The B was definitely dropping in '97, possibly even late '96......I remember chasing the release of this for ages back then! DnB for life!!
- Quite simply the definition of a true Drum & Bass roller. Don't know how Krust did it, such simplicity and very little variation but the sheer originality of samples used and the way they're put together has you hooked from the first Beat. It sounds like a combo of a few breaks but the one at the very start I don't think I've heard anywhere else and don't know where it's from. A favourite of Brockie, It's instantly recognisable in the mix and gets you excited because it builds so nicely and you know what's about to come in. Some trivia - A mate who had a class taught by Krust at uni told me the bassline was made by putting his fingers over some phono leads to get that buzzing sound.
- For those of you that are qestioning the date, I had it on a white in Nov 97, and props to those of you that know the flip - check dis out, was dropping this back in 97 and my mc at the time used to roll the lyrics over it. Considering what is the main tune on this release, the flip is one of those 'B' sides that gets overlooked by far too many
