Sounds great with little to no noise my copy is a translucent brown/orangereferencing The Pearl (LP, Album) 28MM 0381
The other reviewers weren’t lying, this seems like the only way to hear this album on vinyl. I’ve heard such bad things about the other pressings, and based on my experience with other US EG editions of Brian eno ambient albums, they seem to be full of noise even on the cleanest looking copy. This is not the case here, as with most Japanese pressings there isn’t a single click of noise to be found, and the dynamics are heavenly. One of my favorite ambient albums of all time, and I’m so glad I was finally able to find a pressing that lives up to its brilliance.- Having compared these ''remasters'' to an original Editions EG CD release from the 1980's, it is identical. A blatant lie, just different and cleaner looking artwork on the package itself...

Agree with the other commenters. This pressing is exceptional. There is a great deal of detail in the higher register of this record that is brought to life here in ways I've not encountered, even on the cd remaster. Beautiful.referencing The Pearl (LP, Album) 823 162-1
I have a copy of this that doesn't appear to suffer the static distortion issue that plagues other EG pressings.referencing The Pearl (LP, Album, Stereo) 823 162-1
How's the quality on this pressing? Other EG of the same era have crackle issues (see UK listing)referencing The Pearl (LP, Album) EGED 37
I only paid 25 USD for mine and I almost feel ripped off. It's one of the absolute worst sounding pressings in my collection. For the money these are going for, just get the new(ish) CD; it sounds incredible. Get a cassette for that matter. I'm not even joking when I say a VG cassette of this sounds much better than a NM LP.referencing The Pearl (LP, Album) EGED 37
When 2020's reissue please please please please thank you !- Edited 10 months agoSounds fantastic! It's so clear and just fills the whole room, especially the deep bass humming on The Silver Ball. Really wish the spine said "Harold Budd / Brian Eno - The Pearl" and not just "Brian Eno - The Pearl" though.

A load-bearing wall in the house of ambient music. This album is a masterpiece. The quietness of the Japanese pressing is the best way to get the most out of this minimalist ambient. So good.
