Set Adrift is one of my favorite songs but this was so much better than I was even expecting🔥- Edited one year ago

I've got this tape and there is no lyrics into the booklet. Just the credits/thanks, copyrights info and some photos.
/// More than 30 years after its release, this album is still convincing and could being played today again. Great 90's sounds and vibes. referencing Of The Heart, Of The Soul And Of The Cross: The Utopian Experience (CD, Album) 314-510 276-2
This stone cold classic could use a deluxe edition with mixes, b-sides, etc. LP and CD. 32 years old and hasn't aged a day.- Edited 3 years ago

In 1991 I was moving into an apartment in NYC. My roommate worked at Gee Street and gave me 3 promos. First Stereo MCs album, debut from the Dream Warriors and this masterpiece. To this day listening to this album takes me to a special place of joy and possibility. The promo I had contained a version of The Beautiful that did not get all of the samples cleared - namely the main guitar riff from How Soon Is Now propelling the song with even more energy than what became the finished product. - Edited 3 years ago

Like others here, I reckon these guys got a short stick and terrible treatment from their peers at the time (KRS1 should hang his head in shame for dishing out abuse to another brother ) and yet a lot of Hip Hop subsequently took ideas from them.
You can hear echoes in today’s ambient or cloud rap and so on.
Their debut is clever with its use of sampling and is sometimes funky, soulful, touching, thought provoking but never beats you over the head.
It still sounds pretty fresh even today which is a testament usually applied to the very best Hip Hop albums.
Controversial maybe but this is a solid album, very musical with lots of layers and wildly inventive. Get stuck in…
I’m not familiar with their later albums as this is the only one of theirs I bought, I did listen to their second but it wasn’t as immediate as this first one.
Also I was saddened to hear of Prince B’s passing, these guys tried their hardest. RIP brother. referencing Of The Heart, Of The Soul And Of The Cross: The Utopian Experience (CD, Album) 314-510 276-2
A very underrated album, especially in terms of sample based production. P.M. Dawn definitely stretched the breadth of hip-hop, and I always have enjoyed this record.- 'For The Love Of Peace' is track 2 on Side D but isn't listed on the back cover but is listed on the vinyl label.

Prince Be was the Apollo to Prince’s Dionysus. Snatch this one up before the kids get hip.- I've added the European pressing (P.M. Dawn - Of The Heart, Of The Soul And Of The Cross: The Utopian Experience) with a gatefold sleeve to the database. It almost looks identical to this version right here so please check the one you've added to your collection/wantlist.
- 1st choice if your into 'softcore' poprap. One of the early groups to have a crossover pop rap style waay,b4 all this garbage out now. Wasn't a fan of this when it came out, but sounds relaxing many, many years later. Rip Prince Be.
