Agreeing with funkmasterfuma's post further down .
Side A sounds overall rather flat and the bass is boomy. C/D are much better and even B is less boomy.
However i dont have any surface noise, crackling or pops, very clean sounding. If it was just for C/D it would be 4.5/5, with A being noticably worse i'd sum it up to a 4/5
Note: All of this is after a thorough clean.

Absolutely sublime pressing of one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. So forward thinking yet still accessible. Not sure how I’m the first to comment on this press, but rest assured the original delivers the punch that you want from an album like this.
Picked this up on Amazon new in September 2023, the other reviews are correct in saying this repress sounds like crap.

Quite a bit of surface noise. Audible even over loud sections. Wet clean helped slightly but not much.
Low end is lacking. Non-fill on B side. Quiet overall, have to crank my amp to get it going.
Does this version have wisps of black within the clear? Trying to determine if this is the one I own..
