Trying to find honest quality vinyl reviews is difficult and getting answers to specific problems even harder. Internet answer searches are as vague now as getting a doctor health check.
The first record I ever returned was M83, 'Saturday=Youth' as the snap, crackle, and pop was littered on every track on both sides of the vinyl.
Then I had a good run mostly with Music On Vinyl (MOV) giving me perfect records without any issues. After reading the reviews regarding the release quality of 'Music For People In Trouble' on clear vinyl by Susanne Sundfor I was nervous. Like others I bought it anyway as it is as close to god and nature as I can get. As soon as it arrived I opened it up and played it. I used the usual brush to pick up hairs and loose organics on the record and began. To my heartache it was littered with pops, snaps, and crackles. In frustration I decided to take a cleaning cloth and wipe the shit out of it after running it under water. Then I took a nice soft cotton towel and rubbed it good. Lastly, I went outside and let the cool air breathe on the record. I did a prayer while waving the record back and forth in the fresh air. I really didn't want to send it back so I tried whatever I could. Well I am thrilled to report the personal love I put into the ritual of listening responded. The record plays 85% better now. My suggestion is that upon opening you give it a good rub down; some love, and a small initiation. A few snaps here and there I can live with. This masterpiece deserves it. I have played it about 8 times now and it just gets better. Just like Rice Krispies cereal the snap, crackle, and pop does go away the longer it sits in the bowl. Let the record breathe, give it your love, and play the shit out of it! I started this review at 11:30 am and ended it at 4:00 pm. This allowed for multiple plays and to kill off the snap, crackle, and pop! Cheers everyone, it is good advice. BTW, Mountaineers (LOL) is my go to track so after a lysol wipe and water rinse with a good shake in the outdoor wind there is 90% reduced pop. I never worked so hard for a record.

So for whatever it's worth, my copy is...actually pretty solid. I wasn't going to buy it based on reviews here but got it as a gift (clear version) and immediately put it on side B to test it out (pre-cleaning). A few pops in the first track of that side, but 'Undercover' and the rest of the side were fine. Side A, also no problems. Maybe I just got lucky? Such a great album, though!
