The Stone Roses – The Stone Roses

Would this and any other U.K 1989 stone roses releases be sold sealed in shrink wrap/cellophane?

I've got a really clean copy of this and it sounds almost identical to the 2LP numbered release. Don't really need to keep this, but since I can't sell it...

I bought this the year of release more as a curiosity than anything else, maybe played it once out of interest but continued to play my original single record version. Thank God I did as my equipment wasn't great back in those days and I now have a virtually mint copy to enjoy. Goes without saying I agree with everyone else, the 2 lp version sounds amazing.

My first edition UK is etched with correct printed inner but does not have an embossed cover. Seems most first editions did not have the embossed cover. Should carry a premium for those who care.

Ordered from Amazon, record was a bit warped in the center but plays through well (not sure if that's from the manufacturer or if it was due to Amazon's so-so shipping procedures). Album has a super-full sound with great dynamics for the most part (a tad muddy during This Is The One but could just be my 40-year-old subwoofer). A few light scuffs on the record from the printed inner sleeve & had to wet clean before playing to remove some small debris but it's nearly silent, no pops or cracks during music. Maybe a few bits during breaks between songs or quiet sections but who cares.. nothing that made me sit up and go wtf. This is all based on my own individual copy, but I would definitely recommend this pressing especially if it's below retail!

1st pressing ID - Despite reading all I can on Discogs and other websites, I’m still unable to identify a true 1989 1st pressing of the self titled Stone Roses debut album on vinyl. Some say the sleeve is embossed, others say it’s smooth. Can anyone please help.
