A great early foray into instrumental dream pop meets cinematic post-rock by the SoPac boiz. There are moments of heaviness amidst the pretty sonic swirls. Not as mind-bogglingly brilliant, majestic, and essential as their album Constance, but then again, what is?
This needs to be released on 10” or 12”, or at least cassette, pronto. The fact that even the CD has been unavailable for over a quarter century is unbelievable and inexcusable. (I got Constance on CD in early 2000 and instantly became obsessed with it, but for some reason was content to only have mp3s of this one.)
RIYL: Yind, Dif Juz’s “No Motion” (see the music video), instrumental Slowdive, Tycho, Lanterna, Tortoise, Swervedriver’s “Never Learn,” Comsat Angels’ “Another World,” Scenic.referencing 33 (CD, Mini-Album) none
