Picked up the Tads 2017 release and it sounds pretty good. There's a sharp plastic piece that's pressed in the middle of the first track so it pops 2 times and kind of skips on the 2nd pop. I think it a decent release and more on the funky mellow side.

Don't buy this one, even it might sound better than the Tad's reissue. The Tad's has all the original tracks including two outstanding Tubby mixes of that era (Dread Dub > see David Katz' commenting on that, and Eastwood Dub), while this Ranking Joe reissue replaces these with other tracks. Shame and scandal!

Really cheap, poorly done graphics on the jacket. Solid, but looks like a 90s high-school newspaper.

Track selection leans to the mellower side of Tubby stuff from that era, IMO. Great stuff as always, but not my favorite, not a wide variety in sound pallet. Pretty similar vibe track to track.

Sound quality is the lesser of the three of these issues I have. Muddiness and compression is most pronounced here. Staging and separation still sound correct, but it's not very open or natural sounding. Cymbals and high-hat sounds are limp. No pressing issues on my copy. 5.5/10.

Great great great album and reputedly one of the few albums from the late 70's or early 80's that King Tubby actually mixed himself, not just credited as being him. Some great early 80's riddims. My favourite is track A2 Tad's Special. Majestic dub workout on the melody of Nini Rosso's Il Silenzio - no kidding... (Or The Wailers' Burial which if you are more familiar with that...t'was a rip-off of Nini Rosso's tune anyway) But every track is a winner. No, I'm not selling my copy. (Update: I just sold my copy :-) LOL )
