An incredibly original felt piece in a similar vein to Don Blackman's finest output in a more percussion oriented way suitable for Ralph Macdonald. Check out (It's) The Game and the personal monologue! Play Pen is just as good as Sound of a Drum but with a slightly more 80's feel to a new classic breakbeat.

Most of this album is fairly naff calypso-related cheese with some ear-wrenching vocals, but it hides one amazing instrumental track in the form of “Playpen”; a sparse mid-tempo disco track in the (and I shudder to use the term) ‘afro/cosmic’ style.
It also bares an uncanny resemblance to the beat used in Snoop Dogg and The Neptunes’ massive hit “Drop It Like It’s Hot”, released some 20 years later.
