New York Dolls – New York Dolls

Outstanding pressing sound wise. No surface noise, excellent soundstage and no sibilants. Slight warp out of the shrink but doesn’t effect play. Also came in a nice anti static paper sleeve.

From '73, here's an early and important glam rock release from NYD. You can hear proto punk sounds of Iggy Pop, Velvet Underground, and some very Bowie-esque writing. There's even a Bo Diddley cover, whoa.

Nice guitar and vocal work. The songs are heavy and loud, like T-Rex on steroids.

Side B has some great tracks.

I presume the original recording sounds cluttered and chaotic, as this mix does not sound pretty by any stretch. This pressing is clean with silent vinyl, but the overall band sound lacks dynamics.

3.5 stars.

My version of this great record comes with the picture inner sleeve, Skyscraper Label, black back sleeve with pink writing and the black white band picture, like is here shown for the entry.

Anyone know what year this was released?? Hard to catalog properly.

Both the songs Vietnamese Baby and Lonely Planet Boy make this album as a masterpiece!

This is an amazing pressing, dead quiet despite being colored vinyl.

My copy is identical apart from the addition of "℗ 1973 Phonogram Inc." right side of center just beneath "Dolls"

My copy comes with a 'Made in Holland' sticker stuck on Label 1 (only) instead of having it printed on the very label.

My matrix no can´t find this anyway
