Edited 3 months agoThe production is all over the place given the nature of the compilation (a lot of them sounds like rehearsal/high quality demo).
However, it’s still very dynamic and soundstage is good. Much more depth and clarity than what I hear on streaming platforms.
Content wise - not really the best body of work of Hendrix (to be fair, all his materials are amazing, just relative to his studio albums this one is a but weak) but then again the purpose of this compilation (I am assuming) was to give fans a one stop shop to get official release of his work instead of scrapping them from bootlegs/different live performances.

This version (which I bought sealed) does not contain the booklet. Thus, the necessery information about the songs and musicians is missing! What a pity!
My favorite version of Hear My Train A Comin' ever! So grungy and dirty. HEAVY METAL influencer fer sure.- Edited one year agoIf you like the idea that Mr Hendrix is a side-musician on half of the tracks, this is a fantastic compilation. A lot of heavy drama blues. Tracks recorded in 1969 (one in 1970), well reproduced/remastered in 2018. Standard today, hey!

Another excellent release by QRP. I found this new, bag torn at Zia records for $24.99. even after getting beat up on their shelves for months the records are flat, clean and free of defects. Sound quality is exquisite on records from QPR. Zero static, noise, etc. Just flawless. Agreed The audio quality is really good, and some very good tracks on here, happy to have it.
Edited 3 years agoAwesome record, excellent pressing. Hard to complain as it's what I've come to expect with these Legacy/EH releases. They're all done to a high standard and are worth every penny. This pressing sounds great, little to no surface noise.
