Nu Guinea – Nuova Napoli

In a semi-random city (where I live) I was playing some song from this record at a bar (I’m a record selector). In my context, this is one of the most unknown bands ever and certainly I never expect for someone to know about Nu Genea. Yet, I was on the turntables enjoying these bangers and some Italian chick came to me, super excited, speaking a very italian-accented-english saying something like: “I can’t believe this! Nu Genea! My friend just told me “hey listen, is Nu Genea” and I said “no way” but it actually is! I can’t believe my ears”. How do you know them blah blah I’m italian, I’m from the same city blah blah”
She was almost to tears. Kinda drunk also. Hugged me. Stayed a few minutes right beside the turntables, dancing, talking to me. She was beyond excited. I was also very excited too, never expected someone to recognize this band except my friends who I usually play records with, who knows about Nu Genea because of me.
This actually made my night.
You know how sometimes you share some tunes with people and sometimes they seem to enjoy, some others they don’t care or don’t even pay attention, so this happening to me, with one of my favorite bands/albums at the moment, which I finally got on vinyl after quite some time, was definitely the highlight of the night!
Definitely a banger. Great sound. Great band. Great musicians. Cannot stop recommending it. People will definitely dance to these.

This Record is second to none, really impressed with the sound, insane!

On the early pressings the band name should be nu guinea instead of nu genea, as the band changed the name in 2021? Can anyone confirm this for me?

on this repress the name is switched to "Nu Genea" as in newer releases.

The cardboard is thicker than what I usually see, it has an antistatic sleeve which is very welcome. Sounds very dynamic and also dead quiet. I love the work that has put into this album both musically and pressing wise.

Absolutely spectacular record. After getting it when it came out we never stopped listening and now in Italy on a 2 week vacation approaching Napoli this is our soundtrack

Music is great and very well produced but to me, as a music lover, it would be better and more honest if they would credit all the original artists they take "inspiration" from.
