The compression is definitely apparent, but not something that ruins the pressing IMO
EDIT: Did not realize how much this is going for here - I saw 4-5 copies at the local store where I got mine, guess I should have invested in more lol referencing Feeling Strangely Fine (2×LP, Album, Reissue, 180 Gram, 20th Anniversary Edition) 00602567491163
This sounds absolutely great, absolutely great, absolutely great, absolutely great :)referencing Feeling Strangely Fine (2×LP, Album, Reissue, 180 Gram, 20th Anniversary Edition) 00602567491163
I love this album, and this is a clear copy - however it just sounds like they cut and pasted the CD mix onto vinyl. Dynamics were never great on the CD and they sound the same here. I'll keep it because it's a great album, but it's not a good example of vinyl strengths.referencing Feeling Strangely Fine (2×LP, Album, Reissue, 180 Gram, 20th Anniversary Edition) 00602567491163
Mastered by Bob Ludwig, couldn't be happier with this pressing. I wish all new LPs would sound this good. Instrument separation is spot on and you can hear alot you couldn't on cd.. Great dynamics, side A B and D (the b-sides) are my faves.... Highly recommended!!referencing Feeling Strangely Fine (2×LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Remastered, Yellow, 180g) B0028220-01
Does this also skip on “All Worked Out” for anyone else? I’ve had 3 replacement copies now but they all skip.- Edited 4 years ago

As I had expected, this colored vinyl version is manufactured the same way and sounds the same as the black vinyl version. The sound quality is lacking and suffers from a lot of digital compression during the louder parts of the songs. At lower levels and during the quieter sections of the songs it doesn’t sound bad, but listening at louder than casual volumes cause some pretty unpleasant ear fatigue. And to top it all off, my LP2 is pressed off center resulting in a ton of tone arm waggle and sound warping the whole way through. It is very unfortunate, because these wonderful songs really deserve better. I’ve been informed that the master tapes were destroyed in a fire, but that still doesn’t excuse the lack of care taken when “remastering” and pressing this album for vinyl. They certainly could have done better. But, it is what it is. It is listenable enough at a low volume and you could always just listen to the original CD. Oh, and the vinyl is not “gold” as advertised, but instead a putrid solid yellow color with black shit streaks in it from being pressed along with bits of black vinyl or in generally crummy conditions. That probably explains the extra pops and clicks too. - Edited 3 years ago

I'm sad and angry about how awful this sounds. I've heard bootlegs cut from ripped WAV files that sound better than this. Even though the masters were lost in the UMG fire, they could have easily not ruined this album with just a little bit of care and quality control. - Edited 4 years ago

Okay pressing. This most likely suffered from the 90s production and the fact most albums weren't mastered for vinyl at the time.
It's nice to have and I do recommend it, but don't think it's going to be some audiophile pressing.
Edit: I found my CD of this album in a box and put it on. The vinyl to my ears is much better after comparing them side by side. Could be my overall setup for vinyl compared to my CD player, but I'm even happier picking this up than I was. referencing Feeling Strangely Fine (2×LP, Album, Reissue, Remastered, 180 Gram, 20th Anniversary Edition) B0028220-01
I agree with the other reviews. The physical quality of the record itself is superb, and the pressing is clean and has very little noise. Unfortunately, the sound compression quickly induces ear fatigue—continuous listening becomes uncomfortable that I had to lower the volume and take lengthy pauses between side flips.referencing Feeling Strangely Fine (2×LP, Album, Reissue, Remastered, 180 Gram, 20th Anniversary Edition) B0028220-01
The physical quality of this release is very nice and well done, but the sound quality is, unfortunately, lacking. There is a fair amount of compression, which is most evident during louder parts of the songs and causes ear fatigue very quickly at higher than casual volumes. I wouldn’t recommend it for real listening enjoyment, but being that this will probably be the only vinyl release that we will ever get of this fantastic album, it is worth picking up for the collectability and the fun of remembering all of wonderful songs included.
