Notes
Several details listed on the sleeve notes of this album are inaccurate. According to an article by Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser, in Flash, No.11. Page 9. In German - it is stated that the sessions at Dierks Studio happened over two weeks in January 1972, largely by a quartet version of the group and with Florian Fricke involved in all the recordings except for 'Nebulous Dawn'. The album was mixed two weeks later after recording finished. An Ohr newsletter and Rock In Deutschland (Taurus Press) both give the release date as May 1972.
The title track is abridged on all CD editions of the album. Most versions are missing the first 35 seconds of the piece; the exception is the 1980s Jive/Electro edition which has the full intro, but fades out approximately 3 minutes before the end.

Very boring, from my point of view no real music, more experimental interpretation of „time“ referencing Zeit (2×LP, Album, Reissue, Stereo) 783 547
Sound quality is good, nice and quiet in sparse passages of the recording.
Orange is more orange creamsicle than the rich transparent orange implied by the images on the obi and promo images.- Edited one year agothis pressing sounds fantastic, as good or better than my dad's German vinyl pressing from the 70s. great clarity and dynamics.

If planet Earth projected the song Echoes by Pink Floyd out into the cosmos, and then the cosmos projected back a response, it would surely sound something like Zeit by Tangerine Dream.
Truly a monumental work of deep, deep-space ambience, and a beautiful journey to sit and let yourself become immersed in.
Have a copy of the original German first pressing and the music emerges stunningly from dead-silent wax. A stellar production.- Quite a sinister move indeed... I myself just realized the music was playing backwards when I came across this article! This version is the only one I had ever listened to until now, and I do admit that I had a hard time trying to enjoy it. No wonder some people just quit. I guess the "forwards" is less difficult... or is it? The sounds transport you into another dimension, to say the least. So why not try them backwards? An original experience for those fans of TD who just can't get enough of Zeit and yearn to get back to the future of ambient music i.e. 1972 revisited in 1976. Viva France!

Mine has pops on all 4 sides. I wonder if it is my copy?referencing Zeit (2×LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Blue Translucent, Translucent, Gatefold) 783235
very happy with this edition, the pressing sounds excellent, on my copy all four sides of the 2 different colour vinyl records sound very clean with next to no surface noise. the record labels look exactly like those of the very first pressing of this album and the simple design of the black and white inner picture sleeves is a nice additional touch. recommended.- Edited one year ago

Overall, for such an ambient album, the pressing is very clean and sounds good. The packaging, with the gatefold, obi and coloured discs, is gorgeous. - So this release is the first proof of how ambient music sounds backwards ... like ambient music. ;-)
