Great quality. So glad they did not add demos, live tunes or other "bonus" crap that is usually added to 2LP reissues. Just 2 green platters of awesomeness!

There is no such thing as "good sound" or "bad sound" to me: it's only a matter of aesthetics - and asthetics preferences being dependant on personnal taste and history, this good/bad judgements are highly subjective. What can be objectively said about this release though, is that the remaster process changed the sound significantly, resulting in a different aesthetics.

To my (professionnal) ear they have hold the low frequencies and frankly increased the mid-highs. Sound level appears the same as on CD so no big "maximizing compressor"... but I think the low frequencies has been compressed because the bass sound appears less resonnant than on my original CD.

The snare (which was already in front of the mix on the original release -but kinda dark) is now brighter, and really on top of everything, with a lot of clarity and presence ; the guitar tone is also heavily affected (more agressive and gritty) ; the voice tone is changed to clearer and it is way more present. Original bass sound was resonnant and quite blury, now it sounds held and tiny.

So don't expect to find the original aesthetics here. The overall balance is clearer and more "guitar/voice" oriented, along with a snare that hits above the rest.

To my taste it's not good, because I wished to find on vinyl the same feel I liked on CD. I will sell the LPs, and I don't understand why they just didn't try and reproduce the same original sound... Maybe they wanted to renew the aesthetics to try and please younger fans ? reading a lot of good comments here it seems they succeeded in that, so I'm happy for them : it's great music, worth being discovered anyhow it would sound.

probably my favorite by Coroner. things got really upside down and twisted here.. in the best way. not your typical metal release.. Mental Vortex is a close 2nd in my personal rankings, check it out too.

Am I the only one annoyed by this remaster? The hi-hat is too tinny and it basically sounds like ass.

So glad their albums are being reissued! A fantastic pressing, killer album. Product like this is what makes buying "physical" music in 2018 so enjoyable. Smiles, smiles smiles!!
