Reviews
referencing 1971 Summer (CD, Album) H20K25043
Ranmadou's "1971 Summer" is a very special phenomenon. It's japanese Blues-Rock which came directly out of the garage. It starts with a hard version of Willie Dixon's "Hoochie Coochie Man" with japanese lyrics which sounds somehow hot but it works. All tracks have english titles but japanese lyrics. The singer has a scratching hoarse voice which has the tendency to get drowned in the energetic riffs and turbulences of the lead guitar. The drummer is very busy and always going ahead while the thick-blooded bass wallows in heavy grooves. All in all, it's an interesting and pleasant curiosity.
