Must have on vinyl. One of the greatest sounding LPs I have. The album itself is a titanic piece of art.referencing Essential (2×12", 33 ⅓ RPM, Album) DEEWEE027LP
Having been asked to produce a mix of their favourite work for BBC’s Essential Mix series, Belgian dance duo Soulwax took the more prankish route and decided instead to hand in an album of entirely new material, all riffing off the word “essential”. There are moments early on where it feels a bit gimmicky, but as they’ve repeatedly shown in the past (e.g. 00:00 Introversy), a Soulwax gimmick gets done properly. And goddamnit, the beats are infectious. Essentially.referencing Essential (2×12", 33 ⅓ RPM, Album) DEEWEE027LP
One of the best sounding recordings. Wide range, deep and crystal. Pressing is also good. So much fun listen to.- Edited 5 years ago

I thought this was a throwaway purchase, even as a Soulwax/ 2manydjs completist, but the sound has never been so awesome. The music is great: a deep post-house mix, that just keeps building.
But the sound is astounding. I have most of their vinyl releases, as Soulwax, 2manyDJs and Die Verboten, this kicks all other releases in the crotch.
It’s just that close to you. You are in the studio, in the club... this is much more present than most electro records have ever sounded. I wonder how they’ve achieved this but I have to bow down. Again, the music is not their best (then again, Nite Versions cannot be surpassed) but the recording is amazing! referencing Essential (2×12", 33 ⅓ RPM, Album) DEEWEE027LP
Great sounding vinyl as was the From Deewee album. Not sure this is a true Soulwax release as these are all instrumentals with the occasional vocal adornment. I feel this is more a 2 Many DJs album and it takes a while to really get going. The locked groove on side four on my copy is somewhat faulty and I wonder if this is the case on all pressings?! It's 'Essential' only in name I feel...
