The Orb – No Sounds Are Out Of Bounds

One of the best sounding records in my collection (1500), reference grade pressing and outstanding, trippy music, so many flavours in sound..

Did anyone receive some sort of an autograph with their art insert? Mine came with an "LX, Orb" written in silver sharpie.

A really solid album, it’s got a bit of everything! Well worth a listen. Pop, odd bits, bass and quality samples!

Other than the hard-to-find and/or overpriced bundles that include a CD of the instrumentals, this is the only other way to get those instrumental versions. I'm one of those Orb fans that do *not* like the vocals on these tracks, but I love the music, so this version was the way to go for me. To each their own of course!

Not sure why this album gets such a bad rep, personally I love every second of it! A great mix of ambient, house, trip-hop, electronic, it's all there. I guess some fans don't appreciate the songs that are more traditional in structure and have vocalists but personally I think these songs all work really well together. It took a few spins, but now it's one of my favourite Orb albums. Much easier to enjoy and get into than much of their later work. I think Alex has put out consistently great albums since 2015's Moonbuilding. I struggle with their post 1999 output and feel the albums are more focused now.

An amazing album by an amazing band. The Orb showing that being the innovators of modern ambient, they still have it.

I was really skeptical when I first heard about this album mostly because it involved Youth and even though I'm generally a fan of his work, especially with Killing Joke, somehow his interactions with the Orb just haven't come out like I hoped, in the past!
Well, this album takes a couple of listens to fully appreciate because there is a lot going on here and it rushes through a lot of material in a short period of time trying to cram every possible idea into one album.
It's not the classic Orb style of the first four or five albums with Weston, no, it's not the v2 Orb sound with Fehlmann entirely either, but it contains elements of all those past Orbs, and seems, honestly, to have more of Alx Paterson within it than any previous release -- at least, that's my impression -- lot's of fantastic rare sample gems arranged beautifully in many-layered tracks that remind me of the fantastic Transit Kings album. Sound very Jimmy Cauty influenced overall.
Some vocal tracks which I thought were decent -- surprising myself there as I'm not USUALLY a huge fan of Orb vocal bits (I had to get rid of Cydonia, couldn't stand being in the same room with it)
After I got over my own fandom nonsense, wanting the Orb to sound this way or that, and dug into it, I'd tell you this is a great, and varied Orb album that tries to cram as many new and old ideas into one sitting as possible. The production levels are amazing and honestly if I had to compare this to anything I'd compare it to the Transit Kings gem(s) that Cauty produced.

It's a pity there are those transe/house voices, very annoying. Please release the instrumental version of this album !
