Does anybody know if this mastering is all analog like the 2018 Remaster of Mule Variations?

A great record with relaxing music, jazzy vibes and the feeling you’re hanging out in a nightclub in the 70’s in New York. Tom sings great on this record, and the songs, and sound are top notch. 5/5

Just re-found this in a charity box (replacing a stolen copy)...This has 'manufactured in the UK' and no timings for songs...early repress or first issue? label sez '74 sleeve '76.

Mine came without the stickers but is marked CB in the runouts. Soundstage is good

This is not the pressing to get... shortly after this came out, reviews about the sound were not good... apparently original tapes were not used. It was quickly recut AAA by Chris Bellman and that version sounds great

Quiet and flat pressing, no surface noise or pops, sounds nice.

I feel like an outlier on this one: the mastering seems good, and though not analog, certainly a romantic presentation. However, I do experience some artifacts such as light crackling. Can't remember any pops. When I first listened two years ago, I was pretty disappointed, but either I warmed up to the sonic profile or it became less veiled with multiple plays? Ultimately, this album is so engaging that though it's an intimate recording, the less than dead quiet aesthetic really doesn't ruin the listening experience.

Musically, this is one of my favorite Tom Waits albums, but alas, with his catalog it's like picking your favorite child!

Wonderful early album! Waits was still singing in a regular way!

This version sounds fantastic. Infinitely better than the 2018 remaster.
