I remember the first time I heard Diamond Lils when it came out. Although it was pretty fast for my liking, it worked and it worked very well. The combination of the ups and downs, take you on a brilliant trip. There are some individual sounds within the song that are very cool and unique. Of course, the piano is really dramatic. Its great to hear the peak part of the song fo rme is actually the break without the beat that adds the piano, versus a normally cheesy build up to some crescendo that just gets cheesy. I think this unique thing about this track is what makes it work today. Memories. One of the best on Rising High.

This for me marked Rising Highs shift into full blown dare I say it formula trance releases, I remember up til this time I bought every Rising high release with out prior listening however after this point I was selective. Not saying I don't like Diamond Lil's though.

One of the very best of Laurence Elliott-Potter, Diamond's Lil is a mysterious piece that evolves in a pretty gloomy atmosphere at first, with some resonant filtered bassline. But then comes the break. This dark bassline suddenly rises up instead of down, a majestic piano drops some heavenly chord, while a pad lifts the atmosphere. One of simplest and most effective break ever (breaks are an exercise that LE-P is the best at).
