MaxAmillion* – Take Your Time

I heard that a Russian label is going to do a vinyl pressing next year.

When Max-A-Million came out with "Fat Boy" the song was aimed (in the U.S. anyway) at the growing club-top 40 crossover market and although it was a minor hit on the pop charts, Max-A-Million turned out to be a sleeper success story at U.S. R&B radio. Despite the majority of the songs having a house sound and despite mid 90's U.S. R&B radio not playing a lot of club music (yet), Max-A-Million managed to churn out four hit songs (singles & album cuts) off this album. Why? Because three of the four songs were all covers of R&B radio staples - "Take Your Time (Do It Right)" being a cover of the S.O.S. Band hit of the same name, "Sexual Healing" a cover of Marvin Gaye's hit, and "Hangin' On" which contained recognisable elements of Loose Ends "Hangin' On A String." "Fat Boy" got the ball rolling for them at R&B radio and from there Max-A-Million enjoyed success in America for a brief period of time... even if it wasn't where they were originally expecting to have it.
