Sessomato* – Moody

I remember when I picked this up, I was booked to play a new club, so I packed it up with my usual underground set of deep tech house and dubby disco weirdness. When I got there, it was a f**king strip club that wanted to expand into non-stripping nights, and I was there for their first (and last) attempt. It was ridiculous - a bunch of fully clothed strippers dancing while a few confused regulars stared at them, waiting to see some skin and being utterly confounded by the deep, underground music. I was just the opener - Tony Hewitt, Simon (of Future Dreams fame), and Homero Espinosa were there as well. I'm pretty sure every single one of us played this record that night because it was such an echoey bassline thumper. So yeah, this record will always remind me of that ridiculous night. But all that being said, I still think this is one of Dave Lee/Joey Negro's best releases...
