Great album-had to get 2 copies-pressing issue on side 3-ZooZoo-sounds like an issue with the cutter as other copies have the same issue to varying degreesreferencing Slightly Askew (CD, Album) ZEN CD67
Long sax-driven jazz from Chris Bowden on his only album for Ninja Tune, SLIGHTLY ASKEW. The opening track, "Only Angst" pushes the knobs on the jazz aspect, opting for a cacophony of sounds. "Crockers & Killers" is less chaotic with a more direct melodic line, while "Zoo Zoo" continues with the sedate approach, but with the melodies going again in a more abstract, less straightforward direction. But "W'p De F'n Doo" eases into some smoother territory -- I'd almost say big band-type joyousness.
