The Bump & Flex mix easily outshines all the other mixes. The groove is incredible, and the production is very tight. A seminal UK Garage track and a track that showcases why the sound became so popular and well loved.- There seemed to have been a lot of mixes of this track around since first release, which are worth a listen, from Stonebridge, Grant Nelson, Todd Edwards etc, with such a great vocal and foundation of a track its not surprising. On This 12" we have the "Bump & Flex" mixes which became a huge UK Garage track, which still sound great.

Great set of mixes on this 12" of the classic Indo "R U Sleeping", covering all the bases with "Bump & Flex" UK Garage mix - which is probably the better know / more commercially successful, along with "Stonebridge Mix" which is as you would expect on a house vibe and was also on the Azuli release, love the use of the piano in this mix & its probably my favourite version. Plus you get the deep basslines of the Grant Nelson "Grant's Fierce Dub" along with "Todd Edwards' Alright If You're Sleeping Mix". referencing Are U Sleeping (12", 33 ⅓ RPM) ARM 0004
Who would’ve guessed that The Outhere Brothers wrote this (along with K Fingers)?! Although it was obviously the B&F 2 step take that really made it famous. Grant Nelson’s mixes aren’t bad either though.- Banging. What else is there to say?

"R U Sleeping" defined by the now classic Bump & Flex Remixes by Grant Nelson. Grant Nelson originally did house remixes of the track back in 1996 for Azuli records.
After hearing the Kelly G Mix of Tina Moore "Never Gonna Let You Go" and the emergence of 2-step a year later, Grant had the Indo vocals to hand in the studio and set to work to recreate something similar (initially on an unofficial basis). This is further evidenced by the fact that you can hear a drum sample of the Kelly G Mix in the Bump & Flex beats.
After completing the mix, Grant cut a dubplate for his cohort Norris Windross who created the initial buzz. Satellite records then licensed the track from Azuli and re-released the song with the now famed 2-step remixes under Grant's "Bump & Flex" guise.- Edited 8 years agoA warning to potential buyers that this version DOES NOT contain the full classic bump'n'flex remix. This is a version containing less of the female vocals which make the track such an instant classic.
