I wish they had left off the non vip mixes to give the discs more space and of curse pressed without issues. Classic tuneage….Mickey Pussy Clart Finn remix.

Yep, the vinyl I have (which I hadn't looked at for at least 10years) does exactly the same thing

For years I've been trying to get a flawless copy of my all time favorite Jungle / Drum & Bass Compilation album. But now that I have 3 copies I noticed something and found out why I will never find a flawless copy. Today I played the same track from each copy after each other and this is what I found out. On track C1 'Sound Control' there is a light scratch on the intro part. A little smaller than 1/4 of a inch, slightly sideways over the grooves but it's hardly noticeable by sound. And on track D1 'Everyman' just after the acapella part when the drums drop and the female is singing 'The things you doooeee .. You do' POP!! 'it in a different way...' It has a loud pop and sometimes it also skips a groove. It looks like the original master pressing plate at the record plant was damaged, because this scratch also looks the same on each copy I have. Also a little smaller than 1/4 of a inch, straight within the groove with on the end of the scratch a little nob that creates the pop. All the tracks on this album are amazing and can not be found on any other medium in it's unmixed form, so guess I can give up my search and stop buying other copies. I would like to hear back from anyone that have the same issues or have a copy that don't have these issues I described.

This is a timeless mix and one that should be on all 'collectors' lists.

The album is far from perfect though, imho it was not mastered? very well, the mcs, (brilliant though they are) are too loud and the music too quiet, problem is, the tunes are so good that you just have to turn it up making the mc's almost unbearable.

YES-Buy on sight, but be aware of the above.

In hindsight, did the live tape recording actually sound like this? (Mcs too loud/Music too quiet) If so then it carries across to the CD mix.

My mates and I used to go to jungle raves from 1994-1999, buy vinyl, listen to kool fm and this CD came out at a time when rave sets were only ever released on cassette. The relentless whistles, horns, bass, mic-reverb and general brocking-out capture the live experience in a way I have never experienced before (even compared to "Metallica - live shit, binge & purge recorded in Mexico City").

With an absolute heavy-weight track selection (mostly remixed specifically for this album), GQ & Fearless giving a peerless display on the mic and 5 legendary DJ/producers this is by far-and-away the absolute "must-own" CD for anyone considering themselves a junglist/d&b hed/whatever-you-want to-label-yourself.

Oh Gosh! The original sound of UK Jungle. This was a golden-age - phat basslines and intricate drumwork. If you're a jungle fan or wanna know where it started, check this mix.
