Such a great album but such a disappointing reissue. Where is the bass? Why is there distortions barely present in the Rhino 33 mono/stereo double? Why is the "Quality Record Pressing" noisier? It has a clearer top end than the Rhino but its not to its advantage, it just seems to be tape hissier. Truly one of the very few AP75th let downs where most have been a revelation, this one is a failure imo. Suoer nicely packaged as ever bit the sound is the opposite of the awesome AP75th of Otis' Dock of the Bay record.

Completely and unbelievably good pressing!

Record Industry pressed = 3x flat, clean discs.

To have both stereo and mono versions sounding great with such quality presses and a 7in cherry on top is a thing of joy!

Its hard to imagine the AP45 sounding better but of course your limited to stereo with that one and theres always the argument that mono Otis is the punchier sounding method of listening to his records. After all the stereo is panned hard into each speaker.

Well, if you are considering buying this I needn’t discuss the music itself because you know that this is Otis Redding…he is one of the greatest and this is one of his great records.
Sound wise, the vinyl is very quiet, heavy and flat. This is a mono pressing, which is likely better than a stereo mix, I’m not 100% sure.
Otis’ vocals come through clear as a bell. Al Jackson’s snare really pops. Booker T Jones on the organ and piano sounds clear. My only negative is that I wish the bass was bigger in the mix. Everything else is first rate. Buy this record. You won’t regret it.

It's just the way this album was mastered. I have several versions of this and they're all the same. The quality is just fine on this release.
