Just played this. It’s very quiet, no noise. Plenty of bass (maybe a little too much). Overall it’s ok, but agree with below , not the best I have heard. Good clarity but lacks a little dynamic punch in my view. Not disappointed though. In terms of tracks, I prefer songs in A minor.

does anyone else's copy have a ripped page right before the lyrics to track 4?

read mixed reviews of this albums pressings and was set on getting the vmp one, but settled for this standard black repress and i have no complaints, not the greatest pressing i’ve ever heard but it sounds damn good !!! my only issue is my inner sleeves are all printed side ways for some reason

this honestly sounds like a solid package but I do not need the live tracks, especially when there were remixes and b-sides that were popular that could have been on here to make it a much better package; where is If I ant got You pt.2 with Usher or the Kanye Remix? Karma vs Superstition? they could have thrown My Boo on here like the did on her deluxe CDs too

This was a random pick up for me. No pops or skips. Pretty clean. I can’t compare but it sounds good my opinion.

wow! some pretty harsh reviews here. my copy is perfect. I also have the VMP pressing which is mind blowing but this definitely rates high. a little bit of surface noise but tons of bass and warmth.

Does anybody have a few comments on this pressing? Considering recent bad experiences, I would like to gather some info first. Thanks in advance.

I'm genuinely surprised by the low score so far. The packaging on this is first rate. I can't compare to the standard VMP version but coming from the earlier pressings this is a revelation. That was basically unplayable, having gone through 3 copies that skipped on each side and throughout.

This is perfectly flat, clear, with a nice soundstage and punchy bass. I'm guessing some others got some duds which is unfortunate.

Really disappointed with this release. I luckily didn't pay full price for it cause VMP have been doing 40% off coupons like crazy but it's honestly sad how bad the discs sound. I'll have to go back and listen to the previous reissue they did to compare but I remember liking that version a lot. This version was mastered a bit low as I really have to crank up the volume for this but doing so also makes the crackles and pop even more audible - this even after putting all three discs through my ultrasonic cleaner. I usually don't complain about VMP but I think I will have to put in a ticket for this one. The packaging on the other hand is beautiful and totally doesn't match the lack of care put into the vinyl itself. The only issue as many have mentioned is the tightness of the book part of the boxset so trying to put the records back in is kinda tough. Overall though I buy vinyl to listen to so it's a huge disappointment that very little care was put into this.

Let me kick this review off by saying that I was super excited about this release. The delays were annoying, but it's something I can handle if the vinyl is perfect. Unfortunately the finished product is far from perfect. All three discs are noisy. There is not one song without a pop, crackle etc.. It takes away from the listening experience. The dynamics are fine, but I don't get to enjoy them because I am super annoyed by the background noise. Also my beige disc is super dirty. It makes it look cheap and ugly. The packing is super pretty. I find the two parts that hold the trifold a bit loose - they could have been more tight. The packing seems super high quality. A big downside is that you hardly get the discs out. Also I had a seam split where the second disc is (idk how often that occurs). Overall a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this release for full price.
