In which Dylan and the Band catch up with the characters of Old Weird America.

You should never include catalog numbers of different releases on a tape info.. C2T 33682, and GT33682 are complety _different_ releases and have different printing and shell type etc. I've seen folks do this before and all it does is muddy the waters some.

My copy is exactly the same as this one except for the catalogue number 88147 which is printed on the spine and the corresponds with the catalogue number on the back cover.

How do we feel about this pressing?? Why was it released toward the end of the Bands career?

This is a beautiful Bob Dylan album and to me maybe his the best. The atmosphere in the room you can feel and it helps very much. I love how the album is recorded and I think it sounds beautifully. it is not recorded in Rudy Van Gelders studio, but it is naturally beautiful sound and ambient. Is you can se I really love this album, pressing, recording and the sound. I have heard editions from Holland and England too, and they sound good as well.

The MoFi version of this release is an absolute revelation to my ears. I’ve listened to the CD for years and have listened to all of the Raw Basement tapes. I’ve always wanted to like this album more than I actually do — by that I mean I wish I listened to it more because I recognize and appreciate the legacy and I love the songs. I just always hated the sound of this album and listening made it a chore for me. This release is so spacious, it feels like new life is being breathed into these releases and it’s easy to forget the “bootleg” nature of the source material. By far this is the best I’ve heard these songs and the sound finally matches their legacy imo. Incredible release.

Bob Dylan & the Band jam away on music that celebrated lo-fi stripped-down folk-rock-Americana that’s 180 degrees from the psychedelic contemporary music of the time. A charming body of work that fuses surrealist imagery with tales of old-timey characters & over-the-top rootsier bluesy music. One of the best collaborations of all time.
Like the Bible of Americana music.

My Irish copy is not like this but has the four sides in the usual 1-2-3-4 manner.

Very solid pressing from We Are Vinyl. It's my first time really listening to this album and I'm very impressed. If sound quality is what you are worried about you cannot go wrong with this version, it's very clear.

Loose, down-home, almost experimental in how they take country and folk and rock and blend them together so easily and without a care. With Dylan, each one of these tracks could have been a 10-minute sprawling rock piece, but I really enjoy just these little snippets into all sorts of interesting characters. There isn't really a feeling of cohesion in terms of theme, but this might be one of the most successful laid-back albums ever recorded. The Band (geniuses) sit with Bob Dylan (genius) and Garth Hudson thank goodness brought his tape recorder to record the events.
