Notes
The Band is the second studio album by the Band, released on September 22, 1969. It is also known as The Brown Album. According to Rob Bowman's liner notes for the 2000 reissue, The Band has been viewed as a concept album, with the songs focusing on people, places and traditions associated with an older version of Americana. Thus, the songs on this album draw from historic themes for "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", "King Harvest (Has Surely Come)" and Richard Manuel's "Jawbone" (which was composed in the unusual 6/4 time signature.)

How can one differentiate this from this (https://www.discogs.com/release/9630191-The-Band-The-Band) release? The dot in the center of the capitol logo?referencing The Band (CD, Album, Reissue) CDP 7 46493 2
Great mix, a lot of similarities to the more modern 2019 Remixes. Sounds almost nothing like the 24k Gold or 2000 Remasters. Strong bass on this mix too.referencing The Band (LP, Album, Reissue, Stereo) ECS-40036
Great sounding release. Instrument separation and soundstage are really good. Bass is powerful. Highly recommended.referencing The Band (2×LP, 45 RPM, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Brown Swirl "Tiger's Eye") B0030461-01
Disc 1, side 1 is warped, but not noticeably audible. Side 2 of the dam disc shows far less warp. How is that possible?- Edited one month agoThis Robert Ludwig cut sounds such great!!!
Miss the bass on most Rock releases, stereo picture, unstrument seperation, all is perfect for me here, and I had the luck to find a great copy which has not been played to death yet...
Did never excite me so much on CD, what a wonderful album, think this one will climb my top 20 very soon. referencing The Band (LP, Album, Reissue) 038 EVC 80 181
Really good sounding pressing, good presentation of this album, I recommend it.referencing The Band (LP, Album) ECS-80585
Mine has the same catalogue number, the same OBI and light red labels.- One of the most important rock albums ever cut. This particular RL press sounds very good. After hundreds of listens over the years it still gives me goosebumps.
- Recent impulse purchase, I wasn't aware of the EMI100 series, safe to say I'm now a fan.
Plays crystal clean, with more ambience and separation than I could've wished for - straight into my reference collection. Don't hesitate on this pressing if you find a good clean copy.
