The Moody Blues – The Present

I have never had a Moody Blues album disappoint in terms of sound quality. This one is no different. This vinyl no different. The mix sounds great!

Really underrated Moody's album. Moraz is predominant on this as the album is dominated by synthesizers but some of Haywards guitar playing here is sublime and creative as well. Compositions are hook laden with the pinnacle track being Sitting at the Wheel an 80s uptempo synth rocker with forward propulsion. Although this album did not reach mega charting success the music quality without Pinder( yeah the trons gone!) at the keys is just as good or better (IMHO) than previous Moody albums. The remastered CD brings out clarity and nuances I did not hear on earlier tapes and cds. The bonus tracks are throwaways and nothing really added to the already strong release. Its a shame they didnt promote this album more as there where a few tracks that could have charted Under My Feet & Meet Me Half Way which could have been a followup from Long Distant Voyager.

This is a very nice sounding album. Not your 70s Moody Blues, though. Still good!

The jenkiest CD cover insert I've encountered for an early CD pressing. Feels counterfeit but isn't.

Pray you kept the exchange slip! No, just a bad joke I had to use up. It's not that bad actually. I can't lie . It's better than some of their post - "core 7" releases but still makes you appreciate Mike Pinder and Tony Clarke all over again.

Question for anyone: Both sides of my album are labeled A. Did this happen a lot ? Or do I have a misprint ?
