Low volume, low dynamics (which can't be solved by just cranking up the volume), which is a shame because it's a beautiful album.
I'm starting to become a bit hesitant when purchasing Kscope albums...

Great album, pressing is a bit noisy. With a good amount of noise and pops. Mostly inaudible during the tracks. Mostly heard at run in/out and between tracks. This is after being cleaned on a VPI typhoon as well. Anyways, it certainly sounds like an another Ozric album although I guess that is not surprising. Definitely recommended for any Ozric fans...

It's my understanding that Ed Wynne had put Ozric Tentacles on hiatus making Nodens Ictus his primary focus. So there's a big chance we won't see a new Ozric release in the near future. But Ed did the right thing and released a solo album, Shimmer into Nature and, to no one's surprise at all, the music is not at all unlike the Ozrics. It's largely Ed solo though he gets some outside help from Paul Hankin, Silas Neptune, Tom Brooks, Natan Mantis, and Neil Longhurst. This album only proves how much Ed was the heart of the Ozrics regardless of who was in the band. While many didn't like the idea that Spirals in Hyperspace and The Floor's Too Far Away were essentially Ed solo albums with the Ozric name slapped in it, at least Shimmer into Nature is truly branded as an Ed solo album. Whatever the case you get plenty of that wonderful Ozric familiarity with Ed's trademark guitar playing and spacy synths throughout. Every fan of the Ozrics should check this one out.
