Tool (2) – Lateralus

Picture vinyl so I give it a 4 by default. I bought mine brand new sealed and it came with skips and pops. Even asked my friends that have the same vinyl record and they said the same thing.

close your eyes and forget the "lateralis" thing, lol. the whole cd case is such a piece of design art. the album of my life, finally in my collection. so happy :)

horrible surface noise at first, especially on Side A, but at the second spin it was much much better and really enjoyable, no pops or skips on all 4 Sides.

Heard this for the first time at a friend's house and thought it was fantastic. After adding it to my collection I can say it's the worst sounding vinyl in my fledgling collection. It's unlistenable. I discourage the purchase of this album. Music is 10/10. Pressing is hot garbage.

Sounds so bad... I hate picture discs like I hate mosquitos.
Sounds like a dirty record despite every reasonable attempt to clean.

I have this and an unofficial copy. The unofficial red vinyl copy as much as the packaging stinks, has far less surface noise than this. But it also doesn’t have the substantial feel and quality of this including the pressing quality (that is if you can get past the snaps, crackles and pops of this picture disc). That is they both have oro’s and cons. I’m happy u have both PLUS the HDCD.

Surface noice is insanely loud. Has at least one skip per track, even after cleaned. This is one of my favorite records. I just want a clean copy dang it!

Agreed with others, the constant surface noise is pretty annoying. Packaging and records are beautiful though, and if you can ignore the pops and clicks then the sound quality is really good.

I need a black or natural 180g remastered press like I need air.
