This is not a review of the actual music but rather a precaution to be taken for the record itself due to its packaging.
From my own experience the plastic of the outer bag will chemically react with the record which will deteriorate the sound quality massively over time. You can tell when you hold the record under light and you see that the black vinyl turns kind of matte/grey. I have experienced this with my first copy and the record is near unplayable now. You have turn the treble all the way up on your mixer to get a somewhat listenable result.
I have recently purchased another copy of this and that record had also started to turn matte but not as bad as my other copy. The same unfortunately also applies to "Jah War". Either ditch the sleeves completely and replace them with standard sleeves or put the records in an additional paper sleeve which should remedy this.

thinking about getting this (finally!!) but am concerned about your comment. I usually remove all of the records I receive from the sleeve they arrived in to paper-poly-lined inner sleeves, with the record then going into a polyethylene outer sleeve. Hopefully this removes the risk of the dreaded mist covering the vinyl! Thanks for the heads up.

Good call - moved my Jah War record to a black cardboard sleeve, just keeping the original red one to one side.

I played my copies (both parts) this weekend and after noticing how terrible the records look and sound, i found your comment, which I'd have preferred to have read years ago... would have trashed the shitty plastic sleeves back then.

I can even see the mark of the round "180g heavy virgin vinyl" sticker on the vinyl... pretty impressive :p

I hope this single, along with "Jah War" with Flowdan, heralds a new era for both The Bug and Dubstep. Totally advancing away from the explosive but kinda tinny King Jammy meets DJ Scud sound of "Pressure," Kevin Martin's moved his decks into deeper regions of sub-bass, creating some of the first really rocking vocal dubstep (I mean Kode9 & Spaceape is great, but it's more chill-out material). The original's the most killer, South Rakkas Crew remix is allright, it grew on me a bit, and DJ Baku's Mega Mix is a total killer.
