Thom Yorke – Anima

Wicked man! This pressing has more bass with an openness and clarity without all the modern compression I run into with modern pressings. Dan fine job to those that cared. Can’t say that about my newer Wall of Eyes GZ press….i mean mess. God luv ya Xl….treat us right.

Same type of report as the previous post:
even though i didn't hate this album, i was a bit underwhelmed.
But I fell in love with the what-could-have-been-Radiohead-track. Learned to play it. Had to get the LP after getting used to the rest of the songs.

I've waited +3 years to do it as most reviews were bad. Heard about this press. Got a nice deal on it.
Well, it appears the 1st try was the one (a rare occurence in 2024 where i send back +50% of the LPs i receive)!

Records came (almost) flat & scratch-free. No visual trace of non-fills.
They both played perfectly (NO skipping*).
I've only heard a couple of random pops on B2 (which makes sense since it's a chill track).
The rough-looking cover/inners are just bad (the rough feel is not nice, the texts are hard to read and the inners are too thick & will destroy your records).

Fun fact: i might be the worst TY fan as i've just discovered those LPs were carrying a (pretty good) bonus track!

* I know it's a long shot to put everyone with skipping problems in the same boat but, since Discogs' comments section is far from being audiophile, i would advise to make sure your gear is good enough/well calibrated because, yes, this album has some heavy bass and will make your needle skip if your equipment isn't up to the task.

Was afraid of poor vinyl quality based on previous comments and prepared myself for the worst. But actually my copy is almost perfect - just one or two noticeable clicks. No skips, pops, noise etc. The sound itself is amazing.
The music is simply beautiful. I didn’t immediately understand the album, but after some time I got it, and now I love it so much. Another masterpiece from Thom.

If you are looking at the ‘skips’ comments here and wondering if it’s good, rest assured it’s a record cut with a lot of bass that you will need a decent well calibrated deck for. Otherwise….yes, it will skip!

I thought it was ÆNIMA. Would much rather have ÆNIMA.

i wasn't expecting such a good quality when i played it first time. It is so clean, near no noise and has sweet surprises. Made me liking the album once more. I also like the sleeve design and the color, nice orange.

Skips all over the place. Very disappointed in this pressing.

Nice and quiet. Slightly dismissed this on release but a mint second hand copy has remedied this.
