The Replacements – Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash

I'm wondering if anyone can confirm/deny that the versions on the 'Deliberate Noise' LP are the same alternate versions/demos from disc 3 of this set.

I second SteveSaintA's comments about the glue on the contents sheet — too strong and a very awkward element. I also wish record co's would come up with a better way to insert CDs into sets like this other than rough cardboard cutout pockets. But aside from that, a spectacular collection. The vinyl pressing is excellent, offering clean fidelity while preserving the usual 'Mats ramshackle clang. With all the extras, I'd say this is only for hardcore fans. But do the Replacements have any other kind?

Did this get another repress with the barcode on the back instead of the HYPE sticker?

Really disappointed with Rhino gluing the contents sheet to the back of the set - first off it looks cheap, and secondly they used some of the strongest glue to hold this on for no good reason that I can think of. Read a hint from a comment on Amazon the use the heat from a hairdryer to help remove. It worked for me, but was still a pretty ugly process. Proceed with caution and good luck. (I suppose you could leave it on of course)

No surprise, knocks rhino reissue out of the water. Much less compressed, brighter high end

On the back of my copy it has 'jacket made in canada'
Labels match US original and 1984 repress.

Anyone know of this version?

This sounds as great as any of my other Rhino pressed albums.

"Johnny's Gonna Die" is pure inspiration, brilliant. The rest of the album is more or less boilerplate post-hardcore midwest punk, some, a cut above. Not bad if you're still into that sound, but even back in the day, I wanted to like it more than I actually liked it. This album is worth owning just for "Johnny's Gonna Die", and as an insight into where this band was headed.
