N.O.R.E. – God's Favorite

I was disappointed in the intro to this LP, because all the MC's calling in to congratulate N.O.R.E. on his business acumen. My disappointment was swiftly assauged as soon as "Nothin" hit the speakers. "God's Favorite" is filled with no more than N.O.R.E. having a good time by sharing tales of his past and present with the listeners over instrumentals by some of the biggest producers in the hip hop culture (i.e. Swizz Beatz & The Neptunes).
With lines like "the first to sell crack through a fax machine", N.O. masters the art of being able to command respect while creating a relaxing atmosphere to where a listener will catch himself laughing or crying and being able to feel o.k. with doing more than just nodding their head to the gutter truths of the street wise tales being exhibited on the wax like most other LPs. This is why N.O.R.E. is able to hold his own with the heavyweights on "Nahmean..." and has legends calling in to check on and congratulate him from the intro to the outro. The album, though filled with rowdy anthems and threats peppered over the tracks still has enough humor and overall goodwill that makes "God's Favorite" not just any hip-hop LP, it's a celebration, and ALL listeners are invited.

Somebody might as well remove "Big D" off the tracklist cause it's nowhere on any copies of the God's Favorite album.
