referencing The Temptations (LP, Album) G8-1006M1
After "The Temptations" smarten up and got back with "Motown", they released their best album in years with "Power"...Now the group got really ambitious with this "Self Titled" album...
Why do I say that? Because they decided to work with one of the best producers of all time, the one and only "Thom Bell"...
They tried before to flirt with the "Philly Soul Sound", and even though "The Harris Machine" are not bad producers, it just didn't mesh together....
Right here they got it right!!!!
"Aiming At Your Heart" (the Crown Jewel) definitely set the tone for the album, showing that this is definitely a joint venture between producer and group....Also songs like "The Best Of Both Worlds", "Ready Willing And Able" and "Your Lovin' Is Magic" rounds the album out nicely....
The only complaint to me is that, besides "Aiming At Your Heart", this album fell on deaf ears....To me that wasn't fair, because after a few years of lackluster albums, it was good to see them release two good albums in a row....
PS: Rest in Peace, Brother "Thom Bell"......
