Bohren & Der Club Of Gore – Patchouli Blue

I love that this is really two albums in one:
At 33 - a dark oozing nightmare
At 45 - smooth jazz

Can't stop listening to this album. It never gets boring. They definitely made a masterpiece with this album.

Amazing album, discovered them from a random music software company I work for and was instantly blown away, fast forward 3-4 weeks after having discovered them I bought my first record player and this was the first record I bought, still can't believe I just happened upon this amazing album in a random record store in Lansing randomly 3-4 weeks after having discovered this lovely dark band. One of the best sounding records I own (minus a weird small like 4 second part high pitched sound on side 2) other than that 5/5. The sound is so short I don't consider it a degradation of overall pressing quality.

More of the same but less inspired.

While it has the same, slow, atmospheric darkness that I love from their Sunset Mission album, this one just doesn't hold up to repeated listens.

Childish doodles that go nowhere. It's frustratingly pointless and a big bore.

I got myself the EU pressing and it was pretty shitty: very noisy throughout. Had to return it. If one band needs a dead silent pressing, it's Bohren.

Incredible album. I have the US release. It’s a gatefold with zero extras. Not even a DL code, which is a bit annoying.

GIVE US A PROPER GORE MOTEL RELEASE PLEASE!

can anyone please tell me if this (PIAS) or the American vinyl pressings come with either a CD or a download code?
also, does anyone know whether both versions have gatefold covers?
i cannot find any info on the American pressing yet, but I'm a bit dubious about purchasing anything from PIAS after my last experience, so it would be great to have some comparisons.

In my opinion this is the best Bohren ever released. It's pristine and feels like they came a long way to stand here with their new album, evolved and grown up to absolute perfection. Pretty impressed.

the background pattern of the cover is barely noticeable on the physical item. it's much brighter on the digital pic here.
aside from that: nice cover.
music is what you'd expect from bohren: slow, deep, dark and beautiful. pressing is excellent.
love that most of their releases got a gatefold cover :)
